Certified personal trainer/Swim coach
- NASM Certified personal trainer;

I specialize in personalized swim instruction tailored to meet young children's needs. I focus on building trust and connecting with young swimmers to minimize their fear or limitations with the water.
I offer customized scheduling of lessons, to accommodate parent's busy lifestyle. I believe that a private instruction ratio of one teacher to one student, provides the optimal learning environment.
PERSONAL COACH OR SWIM ACADEMY?
No two children are the same. Every child has a unique personality and ability to learn.
I became a personal swim coach after working two years for a swim academy. In my experience, most children learn best when they are in comfortable conditions and with a coach who is committed to their success.
Learning to swim is similar to learning any other new skill and can be challenging and even overwhelming for the child. However, when learning in a familiar setting (private or community vs. unfamiliar pool) it helps to dampen natural fears.
Also, group lessons can produce a somewhat challenging environment because of many kids undergoing lessons simultaneously. This can create additional anxieties and learning barriers.
I am committed to the success and safety of every child during the lesson. A one-on-one learning experience, I believe, is most beneficial for the child. It helps to build trust and alleviate their worries. Children tend to learn faster, feel safer, and show better results when working with a personal coach. However, if your child is competitive, proactive, and fearless - then a swim academy might be the best fit for them.

After students are water safe, know basic strokes, and wish to continue building endurance and agility, I always encourage parents to enroll them in a local swimming school to reduce the cost of lessons and further stimulate their interest in swimming.
HOW FAST CAN CHILD LEARN TO SWIM?
On average, a child can learn basic water safety skills in 12 lessons. However, there are multiple factors involved in the process. It depends on personality, willingness to learn new skills, fear of water, and comfort level with the instructor.
Younger children are less likely to be fearful to learn a new skill, although the learning process itself can take longer.
